April 2001 Barlow and Allied Families Newsletter
Hello Cuzzins,

Well,  what  can  I say,  I'm a day late, and  lots of  dollars short.   And still have very little prepared for you.   It has been a rough couple of months.    It's spring, and my yard is calling  ...  but doesn't take much to wear me  out.   I'm also  in  the process of  redoing  the entire  Clearinghouse ... almost 3000 pages.  And, though it is good news,  I am now going to transcribe  the  entire Byrd  Family  History online.  I have reached the girls who put it together and  gotten their permission...but that will take a while to get done.   I have lots  to do  and  to share with you, just not enough  time to  get it all done.    Seems the harder I try, the  farther behind I get.  So, for now, I have only photo- graphs for you.   I  just put  up  the reunion photos from our  1997 Barlow-Hilton Reunion at Rexford Methodist Church in Simpson Co Mississippi Most  have  names, a few do not, if  you can help in nam- ing these folks, that would be great. I'll add some more as I get time.

The coming  month  is going to  be  tough, my baby son is getting  married,  the wedding  plans are  in the  making, I'm  suppose to fly  to Boston, Massachusetts for my oldest son's  graduation  from  law  school ...  and  we  still  have broken  trees  all  over  the  yard  from  the  ice storm this winter.    The good news  is that I escaped having to start chemotherapy  this month,  will return to  the doctor on Monday for  the next evaluation.  Say a prayer for me.

I  would  love  it  if  any one  of  you would  care  to do  a newsletter  for  May so  that I might catch up on some of my work.    Any volunteers .. Anyone want to share your family, your photos, or some good family stories?   Let me know..  Haven't  had  any  reports  this  month  of  health issues  in  the family,  only one person tells me of a friends son taking his own life, what a sad-sad thing.

Our trip to Florida was  wonderful, we stopped on the way home to visit a few moments with Ardeth Barlow in Florence Mississippi.   Tyler loved Disney World, I loved Florida,  where  it was in the 70's while in Arkansas  we were still in  the  midst of  winter.    However,  we  have jumped straight into summer this  past week,  with temperatures already in  the upper 80's and humid!

I had a call from Clara Barlow Woodall this past month, it was good to hear from her. She has sent a few items to add to my files of family goodies.  She says she's not much into genealogy, but doesn't mind sharing what she has.

I have recieved Goza goodies from Gerri Diehl, when I get time, I will put them up, and I have updates for the Antioch Cemetery, when I get around to them.  I am not ignoring you guys...just having a hectic month.

You know, when I was working, I kept the house clean, the yard clean, and played a bit with the computer, now that I am not working, and keeping Tyler only on the weekends...I can't seem to get any of it done.  Is it an age thang??  Or is it because I know longer schedule my time?

Anyway, it is 2:30 am, and I must get some rest, so sorry for this short short newsletter.  Please someone ... come to my aid and volunteer to do next months newsletter.   Just send something that I can copy and paste and post directly to the web.   Hey, if  I get more than one volunteer, that would be great.  Might make up for this pitiful one.

Have a great spring    .....Happy Easter.....

Love, Susan
