George and Minerva moved to Texas after their children were grown.  Minerva was visiting her daughter Susie and husband, Burton Watkins, in Harrisville when she took pneumonia and died, thus she is buried in Harrisville Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi.   George is buried at Lytle City Cemetery, Bexar Co Texas.

He married HELEN RENFRO.  The daughter of William Penn Renfro and Mary Ann 'Molly' Marshall, she was born June 05, 1892 and died March 19, 1941.  She was also a sister to Mary Emma Renfro, who married Isaac Daniel Hilton, son of Solomon A. Hilton - Solomon in turn, was a brother of Albert's mother, Minerva..

In 1910, Albert, age 29, is single, a boarder in the home of Floyd Sistrunk in Sabine Parish Louisiana.

The Interstate Progress     Logansport Louisiana    December 07, 1961
A.D. Barlow, Sr., 80 years of age, was burned to death Tuesday afternoon in the home he shared with his son, Allen Barlow in the Bethel community about four miles east & north of Logansport. The tragedy occurred about 1:30 p.m. and the cause of the blaze was undetermined. It is thought that Mr. Barlow met his death when he went back into the burning house to retrieve a suitcase as this was found near his body in the ruins of the home. He was just a few steps from the door and safety.
Mr. Barlow's son, Allen, said he left the house about 1:00 to go squirrel hunting to get squirrel for a family celebration they were planning for Mr. Barlow's birthday in January. It is reported that after he had gotten some distance away he thought he heard someone call, he stopped to listen, but as he heard no further sound, he went on his way. He did not know of the fire until he returned much later.
A neighbor, Mrs. W.E. Stephens, saw smoke and called Mr. Barlow's daughter, Mrs. B.L. (Nina) Curry, at her office at Interstate Progress in Logansport. Billy Garrett of the Progress notified the fire department and they made a fast run out to Bethel, but the home was a smoking ruin when they arrived. At first it was not known for sure if Mr. Barlow had been in the house, but later this tragic fact was verified.
Immediate survivors are his son, Allen Barlow; two daughters, Mrs. B.L. Curry and Mrs. O.L. Morris of the Bethel community; two brothers, E.L. Barlow of Akron, Ohio, and Eugene Barlow of Corrizo Springs, Texas; five sisters; Mrs. Suzie Watkins and Mrs. Leta Berry of Harrisville, Mississippi, Mrs. Ida Peters[on] of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Amanda Ainsworth of Corsicana, Texas, and Mrs. Clara Gray of Lytle, Texas; eight grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Mr. Barlow was born in Harrisville, Mississippi, January 21, 1882, and moved to Bethel about fifty years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Church.
The funeral was held Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. at the Bethel Methodist Church. The officiants were the Rev. H.T. Isgitt and the Rev. Kenneth Norton. Interment was in the Bethel Cemetery. The pallbearers were Coy Hassell, Eddie Glen Hassell, Buddy Tyler, Fay Stiles, and John Shirey, all his nephews and Lovett Hughes.

She married BLANCHARD LAMAR CURRY. He was born February 22, 1904, and died December 25, 1988, burial in Bethel Cemetery, Desoto Parish Louisiana

3. WILEY NELSON BARLOWE, born November 17, 1888, Harrisville, Simpson Co Mississippi, and died February 16, 1953, Norcross, Gwinnett Co Georgia.  Beatrice Redford says his name was originally WILEY GREEN and he later changed it to Wiley Nelson. He went to Atlanta, Georgia and established a trade, married, reared a family, and died near Dahlonega, Georgia.  They also added an 'E' to the end of their Barlow name.

He married DELLA ALMIRA ABERCROMBIE August 22, 1908.   The daughter of James Adam Abercrombie and Almira Matilda Baugus, she was born May 1894 in Lumpkin Co Georgia, death date unknown.           

I did not locate them in a 1910 census.

4. SUSIE ETTA BARLOW, born January 06, 1892 in Mississippi, and died April 22, 1970 in Harrisville, Simpson Co Mississippi

She married EARL BURTON WATKINS November 06, 1911.   The son of William Franklin Watkins and Louisa Ann Parker, he was born May 24, 1888 and died June 09, 1958. Both are buried in Plain Cemetery, Rankin Co Mississippi   (Does anyone know if Louisa Parker is related to our other Parker families?  Also, we have several other Watkins families intermarried with our other Barlow and allied families..perhaps someday we will connect them all together)

EDNA BURNELL WATKINS, born February 22, 1916 and died June 29, 1972 in Jackson, Hinds Co Mississippi.
She married JOHN HARVEY HILTON.  The son of John Rankin Hilton and his wife, Cora, he was born October 23 or 1909 in Mississippi, and died September 11, 1981 in Mississippi.  Both are buried in Harrisville Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi.

DOROTHY JUANITA WATKINS, born June 20, 1920 in Plain, Rankin Co Mississippi.
She married ROBERT LESLIE LITTLE, April 20, 1941 in Simpson Co Mississippi.  He was born March 06, 1917 in Pearl River, Simpson Co Mississippi, and died August 17, 1972 in Jackson, Hinds Co Mississippi, burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi.

Betty Jean Barlow, 83, died July 12, 2009 at the South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta, GA after a brief illness. She was born on March 19, 1925 in Cedar Falls Iowa, the daughter of Pater Paulsen and Dora Donaldson Frandsen. She was the beloved wife of the late Melvyn Howard Barlow, and is survived by her children, Dianne Autrey, Marlane Barlow, Peter Barlow, Peggy Wade and Patsy St. Blanc, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, July 19, 2009 at First Baptist Church Covington, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions be made to Habitat for Humanity or the Disaster Relief Fund at First Baptist Church Covington, LA.

JAMES WATSON BARLOW, born December 24, 1920 in Texas, and died Del Rio, Val Verde Co Texas. He married DOROTHY, and they had no children.

MELVYN HOWARD BARLOW, born c1922 in Texas. He married BETTY JEAN FRANDSEN.  The daughter of Paul Paterson Frandsen and Dora Donaldson, she was born March 19, 1925 in Cedar Falls Iowa, and died 12 July 2009 in Valdosta Co Georgia.

Children of Melvyn and Betty are:  DIANE BARLOW married GENE AUTREY, MARLANE BARLOW, did not marry, married 1) BRENDA JEAN RAY  2) REBA EVE HITT, MELISSA BARLOW, and MELINDA BARLOW
