Died 1:16 a.m. Friday, March 15, 1991, at the Baton Rouge General Medical Center. She was 68, a native of McComb, Miss., and resident of Greenwell Springs-Baton Rouge area. Visiting at Charlet Funeral Home, Zachary, from 1 to religious services at 2 p.m. Sunday, conducted by Dr. D. P. Worsham. Burial in the Greenwood Plantation Cemetery, north of St. Francisville.

Survived by husband, Walton J. Barnes, Greenwell Springs; two sons, Walton J. Barnes II, Zachary, and Richard N. Barnes, St. Francisville; a sister, Dorothy B. Blackstone, Chalmette; six grandchildren, Walton J. Barnes III, Hammond, Regina Katherine Barnes and Meghan Marie Barnes, both of Baton Rouge, Emma Claire Barnes, Zachary, Richard N. Barnes II & Victoria Elizabeth Barnes, both of St. Francisville and a great-granddaughter, Mariella Katherine Bettz, Baton Rouge. Preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Barlow.

A resident of Wesson, Mississippi, she died at 1:05 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 1996, at King's Daughters Hospital, Brookhaven, Mississippi. She was 93, born January 29, 1903, in Copiah County, Mississippi. Visiting was held at Harrigill Funeral Home, Brookhaven, 5 to 10 p.m. Monday. Religious services at Mount Zion Baptist Church, Lincoln County Mississippi, at 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial in church cemetery.

Survived by five daughters, Katie Minton, Pensacola, Florida., Janet Kelly, Jackson, Mississippi, Nell Robertson, Zachary, Annie Case and Bobbie Kimble, both of Wesson; 15 grandchildren, and 23great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Estus Lee Barlow; parents, William and Loretta Walker Britt; eight brothers, Francis, Hardy, Joe, Rock, Oscar, Coleman and M.L. Britt; and a sister, Maude Newell.
 
Jeanette Barlow  -  I have been told that a daughter was born, if she was, she was born after the 1900 census, and died before the 1910 census.

JAMES ALLEN BARLOW - RETIRED AIR FORCE MASTER SERGEANT

Died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 1995, at North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond. He was 80, a native of Wesson, Miss., and a resident of Hammond. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict.

Visiting was held at Harry McKneely Son Funeral Home, Hammond, 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday. Visiting at the funeral home, 8 a.m. until religious services at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. William Eubanks. Interment in Greenlawn Cemetery with full military honors.

Survived by wife, Grace McKneely Barlow, Hammond; a daughter, Sallie Lee Barlow, Denham Springs; two sons and a daughter-in-law, James A. and Corine Ann Soudelier Barlow, Houma, and Walter "Thom" Barlow, Ponchatoula; two sisters, Thelma Barlow Ferrell and Mildred Barlow Holmes, both of Hammond; two  brothers, Roy Milton Barlow, Ponchatoula, and Robert Barlow, Baton Rouge; and a granddaughter, Leslie Taylor, Houma. John Granberry "Berry" Britt grew up a farmer west of Wesson, Copiah Co Mississippi. He was the seventh child of eleven of Rasberry and Nancy Minton Britt. The family share-cropped on land west of Interstate 55 on Mt. Zion Road. Berry and Emma lived in the Sylvarena Community while the family was growing up and were members of the Sylvarena Baptist Church. They are buried in the Sylvarena Cemetery in Copiah Co Mississippi. Three of their sons, Alloy, Leroy, and Carl, married girls from the Sylvarena Community. Berry and Emma Barlow Britt raised their family close to the church and Berry was quiet famous for his singing and the quartet that was formed of his family. It is said that they would travel great distances to get to sing.

He married Elmer Case on May 09, 1925 in Mt Zion Baptist Church, Wesson, Copiah Co Mississippi.  The daughter of Jim W. Case and Ora Upton, she was born December 25, 1909, and died February 05, 1984, both are buried in City Cemetery, Natchez, Adams Co Mississippi.

Children:  Alloy, Jr., born April 27, 1927, and died October 29, 1991, married Juanita Cowan, James F., born November 12, 1928, and died December 31, 1928, burial in Sylvarena Cemetery, Copiah Co Mississippi, John W. married Grace Perkins, Walter Oliver, born June 07, 1932, and died April 1999, married Margie Evans, Helen Bernice married Louis Magee Neal, Buddy Gene married Frances Woods, Mary Juanita married J.W.
