PAUL W. MURRAY, born 1918, enlisted in Camp Shelby Mississippi for military service in 1941. I find a Paul Murray who was born June 21, 1918, and died November 15, 1999 in Jackson, Hinds Co Mississippi that may be him, however, his SS number had been issued in Pennsylvania.

Edith Buckley Murray, 91, a longtime resident of Jackson, went to be with her Lord on September 28, 2009.
She is the last surviving child of 10 children born to Richie and Lillian Buckley of Simpson County.
Mrs. Murray was also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Albert Wilson Murray; and her daughter, Charlotte Murray Carter.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Gibson (David) of Clinton; four grandchildren; and three great grandsons; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank the Ladies Sunday school class of Country Woods Baptist church who blessed Mrs. Edith with their visits, and also the staff of Willow Creek Retirement Center for their loving care.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, September 30, 2009, at Lakewood Funeral Home. Funeral services are 3:30 Wednesday at the chapel with interment following in Lakewood Memorial Park.

Williams and Fannie Elizabeth Shivers, he was born December 24, 1885 in Simpson Co Mississippi, and died June 28, 1955. Mattie Pauline Cliburn, 80, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at her home in Harrisville. Services were at 11 a.m. Monday, Sept. 13 in the funeral home chapel with burial to follow in Palestine Cemetery.
Pauline worked as a clerk for 12 years at the Old Pearl Grocery before retiring as a school bus driver. Of her many talents, she played the piano at Palestine Baptist Church and played for the Praise Singers Gospel Group. A very outgoing person, she enjoyed traveling, gardening and fishing. She was well-spoken and had a good sense of humor. She was a member of Unity Baptist Church.
Her husband, Guy Cliburn, preceded Pauline in death. She is survived by a very special friend and companion, Joe Dorman of Harrisville; son, Mansil Cliburn of Harrisville (Palestine community); daughters, Betty Howell and Kathy McManus, both of Harrisville; brother Walter Mitchell (Myrtis) of Richland; sisters, Ruth Ables (Cecil) of Florence; sister-in-laws, Merle Lewis and Doris Jennings both of Harrisville; and six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

He was injured when his submarine was attacked and taken to a hospital in the Phillipines. His family had no word of him for six months before the Red Cross finally notified them that he was alive. He returned home, married, and had one son. He owned a Ford dealership in Taylorsville for many years and owned a farm. He retired and moved to Pass Christian, Mississippi, where he enjoyed shrimp fishing. He later moved to Pearl, Mississippi. He was a respected man and loved by his family.

Myrtle C. Miller, 94, of Mendenhall passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012, at Simpson General Hospital. Born in Star, MS on July 23, 1918, a daughter of the late Lula (Moyers) and Ira Carson Cook, Mrs. Miller is survived by: a son, H.B. (Virginia) Miller, of Okolona; a daughter, Ilda Mae Taylor, of Mendenhall; four sisters, May Donnell, of Clinton; Minnie Hardwick, of Raymond; Margie Bell, of Flowood; and Mildred Ashley, of Johns. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hillman B. Miller; three brothers, Carson, Harold and James Cook; two sisters, Merna Cook and Mable McGee; and a son-in-law, Ralph (Sonny) Taylor. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Miller had retired as a co-owner of Miller Ford Tractor in Mendenhall.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 29, 2012, at Main Street Baptist Church in Mendenhall from 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm. Religious service will be at the church at 10:00 am on Monday, July 30, 2012, with Rev. H.B. Miller and Rev. Hoyt Ainsworth officiating. Interment will be in Mendenhall City Cemetery.

Carrie Eunice Martin Barlow, 92, of Gautier, MS, formerly of Jackson, MS passed away on July 25, 2012 after a battle with cancer. She was born on December 22, 1919 in Crystal Springs, MS to Thomas and Sarah (Johnson) Martin. She is preceded in death by her parents, 12 siblings, and her husband of 54 years, Judge James L. Barlow. She is survived by one son, James C. Barlow (Roseanne) of Biloxi, three grandchildren, Sheri Stanford (David) of Gautier, Don Barlow (Debbie) of Oak Grove, Michelle Orso of Biloxi, six great grandchildren, Casey and Carrie Lynn Stanford, Hunter, Hayden, and Tatum Barlow, Lauren Gronkoski and one great-great grandchild, Jayden Gronkoski. She graduated from Crystal Springs Consolidated High School in 1940. She was a member and Sunday school teacher at Capitol Street United Methodist Church. She retired from Illinois Central Railroad after 32 years. She was a 68 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a charter member and past Worthy Matron of the Capitol Chapter #348. She was member of various civic and professional organizations. Her life also included travels around the world. Additionally, she was involved in Mississippi state and local politics.
