NARVEL / NORVIL R.3 BARLOW, son of WILLIAM BRYANT BARLOW and NANCY HARRINGTON/HERRINGTON, (BRYANT2, JOHN1) was born February 15, 1823, and died March 25, 1870.

He married ELIZABETH BYRD February 27, 1845 in Rankin Co Mississippi.  Thought to be the daughter of George and Susan Byrd of South Carolina, she he was born December 22, 1821 in Mississippi, and died October 27, 1889, in Simpson Co Mississippi. 

2. MARY ELLEN 'ELLA'4 BARLOW, born November 30, 1845 in Mississippi, and died June 22, 1917, burial in Rexford Methodist Church Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi.

CALVIN BARLOW, born c1858.   He married F.A. CONN after 1880.  I was unable to locate him in 1900.  The only Calvin I found was in Memphis, Shelby Co Tennessee, born August 1862 in Mississippi, with wife, Sedonia, also of Mississippi, and one child, Imogene...but I do not think he will be the same as our Calvin.

5.  RACHEL SARAH BARLOW, born March 23, 1859, Mississippi, and died September 28, 1906, Mississippi, burial in Harrisville Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi.

WILLIAM 'BILLY' BARLOW, born 1864 or 1866.  Luther Hart says he died during World War II, at his home in Waco, McLennan Co Texas where he was married to a widow with children.  A Texas death record shows a William N. Barlow died 02 February 1945 in McLennan Co Texas that may be him DC# 8216

2. MARY ELLEN 'ELLA' 4 BARLOW, daughter of NARVEL R. BARLOW and ELIZABETH BYRD, was born November 30, 1845 in Mississippi, and died June 22, 1917, burial in Rexford Methodist Church Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi.

She married 1) MR. BELL c1868.    I was unable to locate Mary Ella on an 1870 census so that I might identify Mr. Bell.   I did find an Ella Bell living next to George W. and Flora Barlow in the home of Jane Clark, her age 20, but no child was listed.  Perhaps she was pregnant and Mr. Bell was deceased/gone.

Mary married 2. GEORGE BROWN HILTON c 1871, son of Thomas Norville Hilton and Sarah Garaway.

9. ISSAC T.5 BELL, born 1869 in Mississippi, and died 1938, burial in Rexford Methodist Cemetery, Simpson Co Mississippi.

She married EDD Q. STUCKEY.  He was born April 1845  [1900 census, if it is him]

I was unable to locate them in 1870, I found a John E. Stuckey with Nancy, and Robert and John that could be them in Simpson Co, but none of the ages fit.  More research needs to be done on this family.

Is this Edd, and Nancy has died?  I was unable to locate any of the children in Mississippi.

[Note that Ollie Lawson is living with Jeff T. Williams in 1920, but his new wife's name is illegible, apparently a sister of Ollie's though, see Hyram Griffin Barlow]   Note:  According to RWWC, Ollie and Sally have a sister, Lauria D., whose age is correct for being the second wife of Jeff, I believe this is who L____ Williams is in the 1920   Simpson Co Mississippi census.  The child ELIZABETH is likely be the daughter of Archie and Jeff.

She married CHARLES EPHRIAM BRIDGES on May 24, 1908.   The son of William Bridges and his wife Delilah, he was born January 06, 1887 in Mississippi, and died October 03, 1970 in Los Angeles Co California.   In 1910, she and her first child, DOVIE, are in her parents home, perhaps Charles was off to war.

Ileene Miller Bridges, 90, housewife, died July 2, 2007 in the home of her daughter and son-in-law. Visitation will be Thursday, July 5 from 10-11 a.m. at Lakewood South Funeral Home on McClure Road in South Jackson. Services will be immediately following visitation with burial in Lakewood Memorial Park South.
Ileene, better known as "Granny" to everyone, was born on June 6, 1917. She was a devoted wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Bridges and her son, Edward Earl Bridges, both of Richland.
Granny is survived by one brother, Bowen Miller of Crystal Springs; and one sister, Permelia Johnson of Brandon; three daughters, Charlene Morris of Richland, Deborah Bridges of Florence, and Montie Drinan of Simpsonville, S.C.; daughter-in-law, Laverne Bridges of Richland; two son-in-laws, John Ray Morris of Richland, and Michael J. Drinan of Simpsonville, S.C.; nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.

Can anyone identify Myna's parents?  I find in the 1900 census of Lawrence Co Mississippi, a Benjamin Polk and his wife Salina E., and they have a daughter, Mina E., age 6, shown as born March 1885.  Is this her??

Funeral Services for Dorthula "Dot" Anita Furr will be Saturday, Jan. 5 a t 10:00 am at Riverwood Family Funeral Service. Visitation is Friday Jan. 4 from 5-7 pm at the Funeral Home with burial at Little Bahalia Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Furr, 81, of Wesson, died on Jan. 2, 2013 at Countrybrook Living Center. She was born on June 8, 1931, to O.C. and Ruth Herring. She was a homemaker and a member of Little Bahalia Baptist Church where she played the piano for 32 years. She was also Women's Chairman for Farm Bureau for 17 years. Preceding her in death were her parents, her sons, Virgil, Randy and Wayne Furr and two grandchildren, Bubba and Christine. She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Hilton Furr, son, Mack and wife Lisa of Costa Rica, 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She married JAMES WALTER GREENLEE.  The son of James Burpo Greenlee and Maude Lee Bailey, he was born September 15, 1908 in Mississippi, and died November 1989.   He had been married previously, and apparently they also divorced and Walter remarried a 3rd time.

J.D. BRIDGES, son of Martin Lonnie/Louis Bridges and Elizabeth Barlow, was born March 29, 1894 in Harrisville, Simpson Co Mississippi, and died November 06, 1961 in Mississippi.   WWI Draft Registration shows birth as March 30, 1895    PVT CO A 2 Development BN WWI 

He married CORNELIA LEGGETT. The daughter of William Shelby Leggett and Catherine Scott, she was born January 26, 1906, and died March 30, 1965.   Both are buried in Mission Hill Cemetery, Lincoln Co Mississippi.

I was unable to locate J.D. in a 1920 or 1930 census.  He may have been in the military and outside Mississippi.  I believe he and Cornelia did not marry until after 1930, judging by the ages of the children.

REV. JACK BRIDGES, son of Martin Lonnie/Louis Bridges and Elizabeth Barlow, was born July 31, 1899 in Mississippi, and died February 02, 1994 in Oglethorpe Co Georgia.   WWI Draft Registration shows his birth year as 1900.

He married QUIDA DOROTHY WALKER on November 26, 1926 in Newton Co Mississippi.   She was born September 04, 1904 in Mississippi, and died November 19, 1979 in Georgia.  Both are buried in Haisten at Eastlawn Cemetery, McDonaugh, Henry Co Georgia.
