JAMES MADISON DOUGLASS, said to be the son of George Douglass and Susannah Carlisle, born c1831, and apparently died before 1860. He does live next door to them in the 1850 Copiah Co Mississippi census, they are both 60, he is 19, and Mary 16, no children. 21 year old Green B. Douglass and wife, Mary lives only a few doors away. He married MARY ELIZABETH BUFKIN, March 07, 1850 in Copiah Co Mississippi. The daughter of Benjamin Franklin Bufkin and Celia Ann Lewis, she was born February 24, 1834 in Copiah Co Mississippi, and died October 02, 1904 in Copiah Co Mississippi. |

I was not able to locate them in a 1900 census. I did find a William and Sarah, whose ages were close, but Sarah was shown to be born in Louisiana, her father in Texas, and her mother in Louisiana. Also, they were shown only to have been married 27 years making the marriage about 1873. This family was in Lincoln Co Mississippi In 1910, I believe I have found the correct William, but Sarah is apparently deceased, and he is remarried to Emma E. Beat 2, Copiah Co Mississippi 15 April 1910 pg 158 #10/10/10 Years of marriage not shown, but it is Wm's 2nd marriage, Emma's 1rst
