Nye Barlow, or Samuel Nye Barlow, was born on December 25, 1794, at Barnard, Vermont, was a son of Timothy and Elizabeth (Smith) Barlow, and a sixth generation descendant of George Barlow of Sandwich, Massachusetts (Nye6, Timothy5, Aaron4, Joseph3, Moses2, George1).

Samuel and Ann Barlow, and their children Samuel, Arny, George and Ellizi Barlow, were recorded in St Mary Parish, Louisiana, in 1850 census.

Nye Barlow married Ann Coats (or Coates) on April 23, 1815. She was born in 1789 or in 1794 in Louisiana. She died on July 22, 1856, at Pattersonville, Louisiana.

Their children were:
Samuel Barlow was born in 1815 in Louisiana. He was a carpenter and was recorded with his parents in the 1850 census.
Arny Barlow was born in 1824 in Louisiana. He was a carpenter and was recorded with his parents in the 1850 census.
George Barlow was born on March 27, 1830, at St. Louis, Missouri [Linda Reinauer], or in 1829 in Louisiana. He was a cooper and was recorded with his parents in the 1850 census. He died on February 3, 1891, in Louisiana.
Ellizi Barlow was born in 1831 in Louisiana. She was recorded with her parents in the 1850 census.

GILBERT, BARLOW J.

Died 11:18 p.m. Saturday, May 19, 1990, at his residence in Port Allen.

He was 79, and a native of Napoleonville. He was a retired Exxon Co. USA supervisor.

Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, until 12:45 p.m. Monday. Religious services at Holy Family Catholic Church, Port Allen, at 1 pm Monday, conducted by Monsignor Robert Berggreen.

Interment in Roselawn Memorial Park.

Survived by wife, Blanche Didier Gilbert; two daughters, Mrs. A.R. (Virgie) Genre and Mrs. Thomas S. (Claire) Sarradet, both of Port Allen; two sons, Lewis B. and Robert J. Gilbert, both of Baton Rouge; a sister, Marguerite G. Didier, Baton Rouge; a brother, Joseph V. Gilbert, Baton Rouge; and nine grandchildren.

Preceded in death by parents, Joseph P. and Beulah Barlow Gilbert; a son, John Wayne Gilbert; and a brother, Leonard J. Gilbert.

Pallbearers will be Paul Genre, Adrian Genre, L.J. Gilbert Jr., Joseph G. Didier, Christopher K. Gilbert and David Turfitt.

He was a member of Holy Family Usher's Society and past Grand Knight of Knights of Columbus Council No. 2875.

Lillie Marie Barlow, born December 05, 1889 Vacherie, St. James Parish Louisiana, and died January 12, 1961

She married Sidney J. Gomez, Sr., son of Emanuel J. and Ophelia 'Morales' Gomez on November 15, 1915 in White Castle, Iberville Parish Louisiana

I'm not exactly sure where Mrs. Gomez fits into this genealogy, but she does, here, and probably with Roger Barlow.

GOMEZ, MRS. CORA LEONARD

Died 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 30, 1990, in Plaquemine.

She was 94, a native of Belle River and resident of White Castle.

Visiting at Ourso Funeral Home, White Castle, 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, White Castle, at 2 p.m. Thursday, conducted by the Rev. Daniel Walsh.

Burial in White Castle Cemetery.

Survived by three daughters, Mrs. Eldon (Esther) Parker and Mrs. Roger 'Electa' Barlow, both of White Castle, and Mrs. Frank (Shirley) Ourso, Plaquemine; three sons, Sidney Gomez, Prairieville, Andrew Gomez, White Castle, and Leonard Gomez, Wichita Falls, Texas; a brother, Percy Leonard, Marrero; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Rudolph Gomez; and parents, Clebert and Angelina Henry Leonard.

She was 91, born December 25, 1899, and was a native of Bayou Corne, and longtime resident of Pointe Coupee Parish. She resided in New Roads since 1927.

Visiting at Niland Funeral Home, 9 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Monday. Religious services at St. Mary's Catholic Church, New Roads, 2 p.m. Monday, conducted by Father Dean.

Burial False River Memorial Park, New Roads.

Survived by a daughter, Mrs. Lester Marion Miles, Baton Rouge; a son, Eddie Callegan Jr., New Roads; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by husband, Eddie Callegan Sr.; parents, Louis M. Barlow and Alice L. Barlow, a daughter, Mrs. Stanley M. Warburton; four brothers, George and Louis Malcohm , and Clarence and Roger Barlow; three sisters, Mrs. J.V. (Beulah) Gilbert, Mrs. Bonnie (Alice) Blanchard, and Mrs. Sidney (Lillie) Gomez; and a great-grandson, Jacob Callegan.

Pallbearers will be Kerry Callegan, Carl Callegan, Russell Gomez, Malcolm Barlow, Michael Holly, and Billy LeBlanc.
