FRANCES 'FANNIE' G. BARLOW, born c1869 in Georgia.  

SARAH ANN BARLOW3, (Tilman2,William1) daughter of Tilman Barlow and Mary Allday, was born c1840 in Butler Co Alabama, and died before c1874-75 in Pulaski Co Georgia.

She was married to JOHN J. FRANCIS on 10 July 1862 in Pulaski Co Georgia by H. Harrell, J.P.  The son of Franklin Francis and Ann Jemimah, and a brother of Sarah's step-mother, he was born c1837-40 in South Carolina, and died between 1890 and 1900 in Pulaski Co Georgia.   He married 2) MARY BRADLEY on 08 July 1875 in Pulaski Co Georgia.  He married 3) NANCY BRADLEY on 07 November 1889 in Pulaski Co Georgia.

MARGARET A. 'BID' FRANCIS, born April 1870 in Georgia, and died 1945.   I could not locate her in the 1880 census, she would have been only 10 years old, and she is not with her father. Her mother had died before that time.

ELISHA TILLMON BARLOW3, (Tilman2,William1) son of Tilman Barlow and Mary Allday, was born 18 February 1841 in Baker Co Georgia [A] or Florida, [FR] and died 21 December 1913, [FR] burial in Antioch Cemetery, Bleckley Co Georgia [FR]

He was married to EMILY T. GIDDENS / GIDDINGS on 16 September 1869 in Pulaski Co Georgia, by James Hartley, J.P.   The daughter of John Giddings and Abigail, she was born 26 May 1851, and died 05 October 1935, burial in Antioch Cemetery, Bleckley Co Georgia.

Death has taken one of our Confederate Veterans, Elisha T. Barlow. He was born in Florida, February 18, 1839, and was a member of the Methodist Church. His home was in Mitchell County near Pelham. He was visiting relatives in Bleckley County when he died. He married Emily Giddens. Later he moved to Louisiana where he lived 12 years moving to Mitchell County on his return trip. He is survived by his wife, three sons and five daughters, all residing in Mitchell Co. except one daughter who lived in Cochran.

Mrs. Emily Barlow died at her home in Crosland Saturday evening October 5, after a lingering illness. She was 87 years old, her husband died 22 years ago. She is survived by 6 children: Betty Mitchell, Addie Taylor, Della Simp- son, Bell Francis, Will Barlow. Funeral services will be held in the Methodist Church in Crosland. The body was carried to Cochran Georgia for burial.

I could not locate James, Emily, Betty, or Roscoe in a 1930 census.

JOHN TILMON BARLOW4, born c1871 in Lousiana. [C]   I did not locate him in a 1900 census.  Family research that I found shows him born in 1892, I believe census will disprove that, and resarchers show his death date as 12 October 1984, place not shown, but with his actual birth being c1871, that death death would put him at 113 years old.
He is said to have married MARY ADKINS.

She married WILLIAM HENRY MITCHELL on 20 December 1899. [FR] The son of Alston W. and Henrietta Mitchell, he was born July 1881 in Georgia, [C] and died 12 January 1973 in Colquitt Co Georgia, DC #01466 [GDR]   I believe they may have separated / divorced before 1910, as he is at home with his parents, she is also, both are listed as widowed.  Children:  META LEE, born 07 April 1901, JIMMIE, born 06 August 1903, and died 18 May 1904, TOM WATSON, born 05 November 1904, and died 13 May 1905, and ROSCOE FONSIO MITCHELL, born 17 July 1906.    Again in 1920, Bettie lives with her mother.   I did not locate her or Roscoe in a 1930 census.   Rosco F. Mitchell died 19 August 1988, at age 82 in Sumter Co Georgia, DC #031513 [GDR]

FLORENCE GENEVA BARLOW, born 29 January 1884, and died 09 August 1909. [FR]
She married JOSEPH W. SIMPSON on 07 March 1899. [GMR] A brother of Jason, who married Florence' sister, he was born September 1875. [C]   One child known, LEILA BELL SIMPSON. [FR] I was unable to locate Joseph in a 1910 census.

ABIGAIL BARLOW, born January 1893 [C] 04 December 1893 [FR] in Georgia.  She married JERRY WARREN CASTLEBERRY on 20 September 1908. [FR]    He died when a tree fell on him and broke his neck. [FR]    In 1910, Mitchell Co Georgia, they had a son, WILBER, aged 5 mo.  I was unable to locate them in any other records.

MARY ANN BARLOW3, (Tilman2,William1) daughter of Tilman Barlow and Mary Allday, was born c1845 in Baker Co Georgia [C]   She may be deceased by 1900, as I could not longer find her in any census records.

She married ALEXANDER CAUSEY on 11 August 1864 in Pulaski Co Georgia [GMR]   He had previously been married to Angeline Bone.  Born c1816-1817 in Georgia, he probably died before 1900.  I could not locate any of them in a 1900 census.

ALEXANDER CAUSEY4, born July 1869 in Georgia.   He was married to ALICE in 1900 Bibb Co Georgia, and has children: ETHEL LEE, MAY, and ARTHUR G. CAUSEY.  1910 Bibb Co Georgia, he is a widower, his age 50, May has left the home, his mother-in-law, Lizzie Carpenter lives in his home.    I did not locate any of them in 1920.  In 1930, Arthur G. is in Mecklenburg Co North Carolina.

JACOB C. 'JAKE' BARLOW3, (Tilman2,William1) son of Tilman Barlow and Emaline Francis, was born c1873 in Georgia.  I did not locate him in a Georgia or Florida death record.  A Jacob C. Barlow died 22 December 1925 in Spalding Co Georgia, but he is a black man.

He married ROWENA /ROSENA FIELDS on 22 January 1900 in Thomas Co Georgia. [GMR]  I did not locate them in a 1900 census.   Rosena may be a sister to Leila Fields who married Jake's brother, David.

JOSEPH BARLOW4, born c1902 in Georgia.  In 1920, at age 18, he is a boarder in the Nancy Sutton home, Millville, Bay Co Florida.  He may be the Joseph W. Barlow, who in 1930, Dougherty Co Georgia, is age 28, married to ANNIE E.., age 27, with children ALLEN W., age 6, THERESA, age 4, and JOSEPH N., age 1, all born in Georgia.

The 1900 census showing Annie L. Barlow is quite confusing..in that the census taker enumerated her at the very bottom of the page, almost illegible with her parents, William R. and Prezzie Barlow, but then again on the last page of the census, made a list of people whom needed to be confirmed, and Annie was one of those.  It just so happened that on that last page of the census, the last family to be enumerated was that of David Barlow.  Thus many people have assumed that this Annie L. is a daughter of David.  That is not the case. 

in 162/165 lives alone a Boyd Barlow, age 19.  Who is he?  He is not in the 1900 census.  Between the two Barlow's lives another Barlow family, the black family of Julius and Hannah Barlow.

He married BERTHA MULLIS on 13 November 1914 in Pulaski Co Georgia.  The daughter of John Henry Mullis and Mattie Black, she was born 02 August 1898, and died 12 September 1980 in Bleckley Co Georgia, DC #032588 [GDR]

In 1910, Dollie, 11, and Nellie, 15, are living with Lizzie and Joseph Barlow  I could not locate anyone else until I found J.J. in the 1920 census, married to Alice.   I did not locate John or Lila in any census records.

NELLIE FRANCIS5 married BEN W. DURDEN on 23 January 1916.  She is not in the 1900 census unless she is the same as Cora C.  (based on age)

Funeral services for Lonnie Bryant, 61, who died Sunday evening at the home of his daughter Mrs. Howard Grantham, were held Tuesday Morning at Mt. Horeb Primitive Baptist Church, Elders E.D. Bryant and Robert Sanders officiated.  Burial was in Bowers Cemetery in Dodge County.
Born in Pulaski County, son of Harris Bryant and Rachel Rowland, he was a farmer, Member of Oak Grove Primitive Bapt. Church.
Survivors are a son Jim Pete Bryant of Cochran, a brother Jim Bryant of Nashville Ga, 4 sisters Maggie Mullis, Mrs. Ellis McDaniel, of Cochran, Annie Bell Mullis and Mary Bryant both of Orlanda, Fla.
Pallbearers were Manuel Walker, Clifford Foskey, Robert White, Dan Grantham, Robert Mullis, and J.T. Dykes.  Fisher Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.  

HETTIE MARVIN FRANCIS, born 10 October 1900, and died 06 September 1976 in Bleckley Co Georgia, DC #026813, [GDR] burial in Limestone Baptist Church Cemetery, Bleckley Co Georgia.
She married BENNIE RABY FLOYD on 14 November 1920 in Bleckley Co Georgia.  The son of Bill Floyd and Fannie Hart, he was born 14 November 1901, and died 08 March 1989 in Bleckley Co Georgia, DC #012078, [GDR] burial in Limestone Baptist Church Cemetery, Bleckley Co Georgia.

Funeral services for Hettie Francis Floyd, 76, who died early Monday morning in Bryant Nursing Home following an extended illness, were held Tuesday afternoon at 5 p.m. in Fisher Funeral Home. Revs  Andy McHolan, P.J. Baker, and Richard Purser officiated.  Burial was in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
She was a resident of Bleckley County, the daughter of Will Francis and Ida Bell Barlow. She was a member of Limestone Baptist Church.
Survivors are her husband Bennie Raby Floyd, a daughter Doris Dixon, grandson Ray Dixon, Great-grandson Kris Dixon, a foster grandson Robert Peebles, two brothers Charlie Albert and Emory Francis, two sisters Julia Turner and Katie Suggs.
Pallbearers were William Francis, Elmer Chapman Jr., John Belflower, Melvin Floyd, Don Foskey, and Bennie Smith. Honorary pallbearers were Marvin Floyd, Thomas Foskey, Pete Brannan, Clyde Adkins, Horace Grinsted, Ronnie Floyd and Watson Sapp. Fisher Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Bennie Raby Floyd, 87, died Wednesday March 8,1989,  at Heart Of Georgia Nursing Home in Dodge County.  Services were held Friday March 10, 1989 in Fisher Funeral Home with Revs. Paul Jones and George Smith officiating.  Burial was in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
Floyd was a native of Bleckley County, the son of Bill Floyd and Fanny Hart.  Retired farmer.
Survivors are a daughter Doris Dixon, a son-in-law Jake Dixon, two grandsons Ray Dixon and Robert Peebles, a grandson Kris Dixon, a brother Albert Floyd.
Pallbearers were Marvin Floyd, Thomas Foskey, Horace Grinsted, Wilber Floyd, Adolph Cranford and Melvin Floyd. Honorary pallbearers were Gerald, Ronnie and Luther Floyd, Freeman Cranford and Don Foskey. Fisher Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

JULIA FRANCIS, born 13 October 1902, and died 14 January 1990 in Huntington New York.
She married twice, the first spouse name is unknown.  Her second husband was W. ELIJAH TURNER whom she married on 17 July 1932 in Bleckley Co Georgia. He was born 1879, and died 09 August 1948.

Funeral services for Julia Francis Turner, 88, who died Sunday January 14, 1990 in Huntington N.Y., were held at 3 p.m. Thursday January 18, 1990 in Fisher Funeral Home in Cochran, Ga. Rev. George Smith officiated.  Burial was in Limestone Memorial Gardens.
She was a native of Bleckley County the daughter of William Francis and Ida Bell Barlow, the widow of W. Elijah Turner.
Survivors are two sons, Jack Francis of Murphy N.C. and Bill Turner of Milledgeville Ga, a daughter Elizabeth Miranda of Huntington, N.Y., a brother Charlie Albert Francis of Conyers, 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joe and Johnny Francis, Larry Bowers, Ray Dixon, Billy Turner and Robert Peebles. Fisher Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Funeral services for Sebe Greene Francis, who died of a heart attack while driving near Bonaire Thursday, were held at Antioch Methodist Church near Cochran, burial was in the church cemetery.   Gardner-Watson Funeral Home had charge of arrangements. Coroner Gardner Watson ruled that Francis died of a heart attack before the truck in which he was driving plunged over an embankment and came to rest in a field on Highway 96.
Survivors are four sisters: Hettie Floyd, and Julia Turner, both of Cochran, Katie Suggs of Sarasota, Florida, and Willie Mae Coody of Macon, three brothers: Richard and Emory Francis, both of Cochran and Charlie Albert Francis of Louisville, Georgia.

She married THOMAS JASON SIMPSON, c1900. [FR]   The brother of Joseph who married her sister, Florence, [C] he was born May 1860 in Georgia, [C] and died 25 November 1931 in Thomas Co Georgia, DC #29181 [GDR]
