HENRY TAYLOR BARLOW4, (Joseph3, Henry2, William1) son of Joseph B. Barlow and Margaret Francis, was born June 1853 in Pulaski Co Georgia, [C] and died c1902-03, probably in Pulaski Co Georgia.

He married NANCY COLLINS PETTY  on 29 June 1884 in Pierce Co Georgia. [GMR]   The daughter of Aaron Petty and Lavinia King, [RWWC] she was born May 1868 in Georgia. [C] After Henry's death, she married Joseph Edward 'Ed' Tillery c1908, and had 1 child, Dollie Tillery. [RWWC] Tillery, Mrs. Ed, 2nd wife of Ed Tillery died in 1915, burial in Coody Cemetery, Bleckley Co Georgia.  [CR]

A boarder in the E.R. McPhail home, this may or may not be our Henry, he is a little older than ours, but is the only Henry in Pulaski or the surrounding area's

HORNE in Pulaski Co Georgia, next door to William R. and Prezzie Barlow in 1910, Pulaski Co Georgia.  They have been married 6 years, 4 children born, 2 living:  WILLA M., age 3, and WALTER C., age 11 mo    (Census Image)   I did not locate them in a 1920 census. 

THOMAS WALKER BARLOW, born 31 January 1895 in Pulaski Co Georgia, [SSDI] and died 06 December 1966 in Moultrie, Colquitt Co Georgia. [SSDI, RWWC] He and Henry are not in the home in 1910, there ages about 15 and 12, but with Nancy having remarried, they may be staying with relatives, I cannot locate them.    

HENRY LINWOOD / JOHN HENRY BARLOW, born 06 October 1897 [SSDI] in Pulaski Co Georgia, and died March 1974 in Taylor, Wayne Co Michigan. [SSDI]   A Henry Barlow, age 24, lives in Muscogee Co Georgia, a boarder in the Underwood home that may be him.  (Census Image)   I find a John Henry, age 33 in 1930 Detroit, Wayne Co Michigan, living with the John Scarborough family, along with Reuben Kenneth, that may be him.   (Census Image)

He married IDA IONE / IOLA CRUMP on 15 December 1878. [FR] The daughter of John J. Crump and Frances Belflower, [C,GMR] she was born 04 March 1861 [CR] or 1862 [C] in Cochran, Bleckley Co Georgia and died 13 January 1934 in Bleckley Co Georgia, Death Certificate #232. [GDR] burial in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Bleckley Co Georgia. [CR]

She married CHARLES T. 'CHARLIE' ADKINS [RWWC] on 02 January 1910 in Pulaski Co Georgia, marriage performed by R.A. Wilson, M.G.  [GMR] The son of William Atkins and Martha ___, he was born 14 June 1888, and died 17 April 1959, burial in Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Bleckley Co Georgia, inscription: PFC US Army WWI. [CR]   No children  [1910 Census Image) They were divorced before 1920, where I find Charles living in the home with his parents. (Census Image)   Nomie has returned to her mother's home by 1920 (shown as single, though she is divorced, see above), and apparently did not remarry, as her death record and cemetery record show her as a Barlow.   In 1930, Ada and Joseph Adkins are living with Jack and Annie.

He married MARGARET 'BID' FRANCIS on 12 December 1889 in Pulaski Co Georgia. [GMR] The daughter of John Francis and Sarah Barlow, [FR,C] she was born April 1870, and died 1945. [CR] Both are buried Pulaski-Bleckley Co Georgia Memorial Gardens Cemetery. [CR]

Of Margaret's father, I have been told that John Francis was the son of Franklin and Ann Jemimah Francis, which would make him the brother of Margaret Francis Barlow, (see #4) William's mother. Of Margaret's mother, Sarah Barlow was the daughter of Morgan Tillmon Barlow and Mary Allday. [FR,C,GMR]

DUDLEY ELLIS BARLOW4 (Joseph3, Henry2, William1) son of Joseph B. Barlow and Margaret Francis, was born April 1859 in Pulaski Co Georgia. [C], and died after 1930. [C] I cannot locate a cemetery record or death date for him. I did not locate him in an 1880 census.

He married DELIA /SENIA C. DEFORE on 26 December 1880 in Pulaski Co Georgia. [GMR] The daughter of James Etheldred Defore, and Martha Carolina _____, [C,RWWC] she was born in 1860, death date unknown. [RWWC]   I could not locate her in an 1880 census either.   Several genealogies show that Dudley had been married previously to a Sylvia A., but I believe she is the same as Senia, as in the 1910 census, he indicates that this is his first marriage.

SHADRICK MASHAK BARLOW5 born 05 September 1891, [DR, Bleckley Co Georgia] and died 25 September 1974 in Pulaski Co Georgia, Death Certificate #013062, [GDR] burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Bleckley Co Georgia [CR] (adopted son)    Any direct descendant of Shadrick Barlow from here on down on a DNA test will not test as a match for the Barlow line unless Shadrick's biological father was also a Barlow of this same line.    I found the middle name of Mashak on his draft registration, and wonder if his biological father might have been a Mayshak /Mascheck or some variant of the name.

JOSEPHINE 'JOSIE' FRANCIS BARLOW4 (Joseph3, Henry2, William1) daughter of Joseph B. Barlow and Margaret Francis, [FR,GMR] was born 02 October 1862 in Cochran, Bleckley Co Georgia, [FR] and died 11 November 1918 in Pulaski Co Georgia. [FR]

She married JOHN FRANKLIN LEE on 10 December 1878 in Pulaski Co Georgia. [GMR]    The son of Hixon Lee and Martha McCreal, [RWWC,C] he was born 22 November 1858 in Eastman, Dodge Co Georgia and died 1912 in Pulaski Co Georgia. [RWWC]   It is said that they are both buried in Gary, Emanuel Co Georgia. [RWWC]

She married OSCAR J. SANDERS on 26 August 1916 in Bleckley Co Georgia. [GMR] He was born c1882, and died 06 January 1955 in Brooks Co Georgia, Deatth Certificate #00238.  [GDR] I found neither of them in the SSDI.
Only known child is from 1930 Cook Co Illinois census: HERMAN SANDERS, born c1917.

She married SEABORN 'JUDGE TECUMSEH' HARDEN on 28 June 1911 in Pulaski / Bleckley Co Georgia. [FR] The son of William Harmon Harden and Nancy Jane Jones, [FR] he was born 15 November 1871 in Pike Co Georgia, [FR] and died 26 March 1938 in Irwin Co Georgia, Death Certificate #6855.[GDR]

JOHN HERMAN LEE, born 22 February 1888 [FR,C, SSDI], and died October 1964 in Houston, Harris Co Texas. [SSDI issued in Indiana] In 1920, Herman and Valmar, both single, live in Colquitt Co Georgia as boarders in the J.M. Bryant home.   He married MABLE _____ about 1927, and lived in Houston, Harris Co Texas in 1930    They had no children at that time. [C]

ROBERT ERNER LEE, born 01 May 1892, and died 12 April 1963 in Baldwin Co Georgia, Death Certificate #11262. [GDR]
He married VERA PURSER on 01 December 1917 in Bleckley Co Georgia. [GMR]   The daughter of Prior Green Purser/Pusser and Elizabeth Juliette Holland, [RWWC] she was born 24 April 1896, and died 27 August 1949 in Bibb Co Georgia, Death Certificate 16084. [GDR]   Both are buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Bleckley Co Georgia.[FR, not shown on transcribed CR]

VALMAR AUGUSTUS LEE, born 28 July 1894, and died 12 April 1975, Jacksonville, St. John's / Duval Co Florida [SSDI]
He married RUTH MARIAN STOUT.  [FR,C] Probable daughter of John R. and Norah Stout, [C] she was born 07 September 1900, Berwick, Columbia Co Pennsylvania, [FR,SSDI] and died 09 September 1977, Jacksonville, St. John's / Duval Co Florida. [SSDI]
In 1920, Herman and Valmar, both single, live in Colquitt Co Georgia as boarders in the J.M. Bryant home.    In 1930, he, Ruth, and Hettie lives in Duval Co Florida, no children at that time 

CAROLINE LEE, born 18 April 1896 [FR]    I find a Caroline Kidger born 18 Aptril 1896, and died 04 September 1979 in Troup Co Georgia, Death Certificate #029220. [GDR,SSDI}  Could this be her?  I find no Kidger's in Georgia in 1920 or 1930 though. 

HETTY CLIFFORD / CHRISTIAN LEE, born 22 June 1899, and died 23 January 1978 Jacksonville, St. John's / Duval Co Florida. [SSDI]
She did not marry.   In 1930, she lives with Valmar in Florida

ZELMA ONEITA LEE, born 25 January 1901 or 22 June 1901, and died 07 August 1963,[FR] burial in Riverside Memorial Cemetery, Jacksonville, St. John's / Duval Co Florida. [FR] I could not locate her in a SSDI death index.   She married William Horace Harden, son of Benjamin Harden and Frances Seagraves on 27 November 1919. He was born 01 June 1896 and died 23 June 1984 in Atlantic Beach, Duval Co Florida [SSDI]

WILLIAM M. BARLOW4 (Morgan3, Henry2, William1), son of Morgan Tillmon Barlow and Mary Collins, was born 15 February 1862 in Wilkinson Co Georgia, [C,FR] and died 31 January 1933 in Macon, Bibb Co Georgia, Death Certificate #171 [GDR]

He married SARA 'ANNIE' MICHELI on 04 November 1894. [RWWC] The daughter of Remuldo Michel and Margaret Brooks, [C,A] she was born 16 February 1877 in Clark Co Georgia, [C,A] and died 04 May 1939 in Macon, Bibb Co Georgia, Death Certificate #10150  [GDR,A] (I could not locate her parents in an 1880 census to identify them for sure)

MARY BARLOW4 (Morgan3, Henry2, William1) daughter of Morgan Tillmon Barlow and Mary Collins, was born August 1874 [FR] [1900C 1875]   I believe she died 19 October 1938 in Bibb Co Georgia.  Death Certificate #27381 [GDR]

She married ROBERT THOMAS BYRD c1907. [C] I believe he was the Robert T. Byrd who was in the 1900 census of Dooly Co Georgia, age 24, born April 1876. [C]   He died 12 January 1942 in Bibb Co Georgia at 65 years of age.  Death certificate #143  [GDR] He may be the son of Pleasant Gilford Byrd of Jones Co Georgia. [C]

She married ABRAHAM B. POSEY on 10 January 1891 in Pulaski Co Georgia, the ceremony performed by J.S. Evans, J.P.  [GMR] The son of Bartlett Posey and Jane ______, [C] he was born 27 October 1870 in Tennessee, and died 01 February 1943 in Unadilla, Dooly Co Georgia, burial in Walnut Cemetery, Unadilla, Dooly Co Georgia. [RWWC]  After Rhoda's death, Abraham remarried to 'Pearlie' ...this information from the 1920 Georgia census. [C] Pearl Tillery [RWWC]

She married 1)  ELLIS SMITH on 04 March 1917 in Bleckley Co Georgia. [RWWC,GMR]  They lived in Bleckley Co Georgia in 1920 with son, CECIL C.T. SMITH, age 1 yr 8 mo. [C]  (Census Image)  I find an Ellis Smith who died in Bleckley Co Georgia on 11 March 1922 that may be him, Death Certificate #5524-D. [GDR]
She married 2) GARLAND MCCUTCHEON   [RWWC]  I did not locate Nancy or Cecil in a 1930 census with either spouse.   I find that Cecil C.T. Smith died on 11 June 1974 in DeKalb Co Georgia, at the age of 56 years, Death Certificate # 017876 [GDR]

She married JAMES H. MULLIS on 17 August 1888 in Pulaski Co Georgia. [GMR]   He was born July 1855. [C]  I found a James H. Mullis, born c1855-56, son of Griffin Mullis and Colin Smith in the 1860 census of Pulaski Co, but several genealogies show him to have married Melissa.  However, it appears she may be deceased before 1888, and Ella may be a second wife.  I note that in the 1900 census, the child Mary was born in 1885, and the marriage of James and Ella was in 1888.

The 1900 census showing Annie L. Barlow is quite confusing..in that the census taker enumerated her at the very bottom of the page, almost illegible, but then at the end of the census, made a list of people whom needed to be confirmed, and Annie was one of those.  It just so happened that on that last page of the census, the last family to be enumerated was that of David B. Barlow, a son Tilman Barlow and Emaline Francis.  Thus many people have assumed that this Annie L. is a daughter of David.  That is not the case. To make matter more confusing though, the SSDI shows her birthdate as April 1899.

Funeral services for John Thomas Grimsley, of Eastman, Route Five, who was found dead in a shallow pool of water near his home August 29, were conducted at Bethel Church August 30 by Rev. J. E. Conley. Mr. Grimsley was 76 years old and for many years had been in ill health and very feeble. It is believed that while walking along the road, near Ocmulgee Church, that he stumbled and fell into the pool of water and drowned. A coroner's jury rendered a verdict of death by drowning, it is said.
Mr. Grimsley was a life long resident of Dodge County and had been a prominent farmer. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Grimsley. He was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church.
Hymns were sung by J.W. Dunn, Minnie Giddens and Betty Byars. Interment followed in Rozer Cemetery. Mr. Grimsley is survived by his wife, two brothers, F.C. Grimsley of Macon and J.J. Grimsley of Fitzgerald; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Viola Badder, of Kansas City, Kansas; and seven grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Final services for Mrs. J.T. Grimsley, 80, of Eastman, who died Sunday, May 3, folowing a stroke, were held on Monday, May 4, in the Bethel Baptist Church with the Rev. J. B. Evans officiating.
Mrs. Grimsley was a native of Bleckley County but had resided in Dodge for many years.
Pallbearers were Morris Barlow, J.R. Barlow, Buddie Barlow, Eschol White, J.S. Thompson and Curtis Peacock. Mr. and Mrs. W.T. Rampley, of Macon, rendered the sacred songs.
She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. J.F. Swearingen, of Atlanta, and Mrs. W.A. Butler, of Plainfield; two brothers, D.W. and J.B. Barlow, of Eastman. Seven grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren also survive. Interment was in Rozar Cemetery with Horne Funeral Home arranging the services.

He married LONIE ROZAR on 26 February 1922 in Laurens Co Georgia. [RWWC]  The daughter of N.H. Rozar, she was born 07 November 1905, and died 12 March 1987 in Houston Co Georgia, Death Certificate #012018 [GDR,RWWC] burial in Rozar Cemetery, Dodge Co Georgia. [RWWC]   They had 3 children. [RWWC]  Lonie married Russell A. Weitman after the death of James.  [RWWC]
